I'm passionate about making sure every student’s voice is heard, especially those who are often overlooked. As an immigrant, I know firsthand the challenges of navigating a new environment— and that's why I’m committed to creating a more inclusive, welcoming, and supportive campus for all students. At Tilburg University, no one should feel unheard. I’m running to stand up for marginalized communities, advocate for human rights, and push for real change where it’s needed most.”

My focus is: Democratization of our university

Why this is important to me: As a refugee and student, I have seen how easy it is to feel unheard, especially when you're navigating unfamiliar systems. At Tilburg University, I’ve watched student voices, especially from marginalized and justice-focused groups, be dismissed or ignored by the administration. That cannot be accepted and needs to be changed. I am running because I believe in a university where every voice matters, where students are involved in decisions, and where we fight for human rights, inclusivity, and real accountability.

How we want to achieve this: I believe that change begins with ensuring that student voices are heard, not just considered, especially those who are often excluded from the debate, as is common at this university. As a Student Council representative, I will work to strengthen democratic decision-making at Tilburg University by advocating for greater student participation in important university decisions. I will advocate for greater transparency from the University Council, particularly regarding how it interacts with student organizations, especially those focused on social justice and human rights. Drawing on my personal experience as a refugee, I will also focus on creating a more inclusive environment where migrant and refugee students feel truly welcomed and supported. My goal is to ensure that every student, regardless of background, has the opportunity to contribute to building a fairer, more responsive, and more compassionate university.
