Our candidates

“As a candidate, I want to push the university to be a leading voice for peace instead of falling for fearmongering rhetoric and government influence. We noticed an increased willingness of our university to work together with our far-right government in their dangerous war efforts. PSA thinks there is no good reason we should assist the military and the militarization of society. Our research and limited resources should be put into educating students and understanding society instead of war and destruction.”

My focus is: Demilitarization of Academia
Did you know that Tilburg University works together with the Dutch military but also with Thales, one of the world's biggest arms manufacturers specialised in human rights violations all across the world?
Most students don't, and we think that's kind of a problem.
Currently, research at TiU is being done into military tech like opressive surveillance techniques and AI for killer drones. Working on these projects and with these partners is directly contrary to our university's values.
This is all happening with little transparency, no public debate and no input from students. TiU should be an open space for debate and critical thinking, and not closed door partnerships with the military and arms dealers.
PSA will push for ethics, transparency and most importantly a voice for students in the development of this university. It's your degree, your tuition, your campus.
