“I'm deeply committed to building a truly inclusive community here at Tilburg University. For me, it's crucial that every student, no matter their background, feels valued and has their voice heard. That is why I'm committed to actively addressing the challenges faced by students with disabilities. I want to shine a light on the difficulties faced by those with visible and not visible disabilities and make accommodating them more accessible.”

My focus is: Improved accessibility for people with disabilities
Why this is important to me: I believe Tilburg University should be a place where every student can thrive, regardless of ability. That's why I’m committed to breaking down the systemic barriers that prevent students with disabilities from fully participating in campus life and their education. We envision a university where everyone can navigate our spaces and access resources with independence and dignity. By removing these obstacles, we'll foster a more inclusive community, allowing for greater involvement in everything Tilburg University has to offer and ensuring equal opportunities for all. Ultimately, promoting accessibility within our university contributes to a more just and equitable society for everyone. When our campus is truly accessible, all students can focus on their studies without facing unnecessary hurdles.
How we want to achieve this:
Campus Accessibility Audit: We will initiate a thorough review of all campus buildings and facilities to pinpoint existing accessibility challenges.
Direct Feedback Mechanism: We will establish a clear and accessible focus group or reporting system where all students can easily share information about accessibility barriers they encounter.
Clearer Navigation: We will work to improve campus signage and wayfinding to ensure they are easily understandable for students with visual impairments or cognitive differences.
Accessible Digital Resources: We will advocate for and support training and resources for faculty and staff to create accessible documents and online materials.
